An Evening of Firefly

This Friday evening, January 31, at 7:30pm, I’ll have the honor of sitting on a panel of guests for a live chat on the Facebook page and YouTube channel of Otherworldly Fundraising for “An Evening of Firefly.”

Host Stephen Fischer of Otherworldly Fundraising and the Rochester Browncoats will lead a panel discussion of why Firefly still has such a large and passionate fanbase even 22 years after its premature cancellation.

Now, let’s be honest; I’m hardly the most prestigious person on the panel.  Other guests will include Lynelle Miliate-Ha, cap’n of the famed California Browncoats, as well as graphic artist Zac Pensol, who is a former project director and in-house artist at Toy Vault, and Dylan Hay-Chapman, a film and television graphic artist whose credits include Firefly.

I’m not rightly sure what direction the conversation will take, and I won’t speculate on exactly what Zac and Dylan are going to talk about, but since I know Lynelle and have a pretty good idea of what I’m conjurin’, I can tell you that if you tune in, there’s a better than average chance you’ll hear something about Browncoat Ball, Can’t Stop the Serenity, the failed dream that was Take Back the Sky and even a teaser for a very shiny Browncoats event that is being conjured out west this summer.  (We’ll be talking more about that event in the coming weeks right here as well.)  I understand there will also be opportunities for viewers to post comments and ask questions of the panelists through real-time virtual chat.

So, if you find yourself sittin’ at home (or stuck somewhere else) Friday evening with nothing in particular to do, you might want to log on to Otherworldly Fundraising’s Facebook page or YouTube channel and catch the chat live.  And if not, you can always watch a replay later.
